Lilac Wiggleton ACCT-A-243398 is a 9-year-old female who was brought in by APOs as strays on 2/18. She's a sweet and gentle senior who is looking for her forever home. Stayed on bed while I read her kennel card. Once I said her name, She slowly got up and came forward. Easy to leash. Leash Skills: Light pressure on leash, follows handler. Sociability: Lilac leaned into pets and rubs. She lifted her head for chin scratches. She was a tad head shy but also appears to me to have some vision issues. She ran into a couple items outside. Play: Did not react to toys, loved treats and took them so gently. Dog Interaction: A few dogs walked by and Lilac seemed to not notice. When she did notice one she went to fence and sniffed, remained neutral. Her tail wagged the entire time we were outside. When a dog would walk away, she would look at them, ears at attention, loose body, but not go towards fence Return to Kennel: Stepped in on her own. When walking her back to kennel, Lilac did walk into a door and stumble. She got up quickly. Does not appear to have mobility issues. Color Level: Gold for consideration of her age/possible sight issues. Recommendations and considerations: Per staff on 2/19: "Lilac was laying on her bed and got up when I approached. She was easy to leash and came right out of kennel. She was patient while we waited for another dog to be taken out of its kennel and solicited attention from a volunteer passing by. She was loose and wiggly. She walked well on our way outside, being patient while we gave the other dog some room. She approached the other dog through the fence and had good gate greetings. She also had good face-to-face greetings, but then became avoidant, likely due to his forward behavior. No issues walking back or returning to kennel."
