Hi, I'm Moxie, a 40-pound Border Collie mix with a busy brain and a heart of pure gold. I'll be honest-I can be a little anxious, especially in new places like this shelter, and being confined makes me nervous. But when you give me something to focus on, a job to do, or a trick to learn, I absolutely light up. I'm eager to polish my manners and show off how smart I really am. I've got that classic Border Collie energy and curiosity, which means my nose is always working overtime. If it smells good, I'm investigating-so you might want to keep an eye on your counters and trash cans because I just might help myself! I love being outside where I can stretch my legs, think my big thoughts, and feel more at ease. Out in the yard, I'm in my element. I want to sniff everything before I fully settle in with you-it's just how I figure out the world. I notice other dogs passing by and I'm very interested in what they're up to. I've also been known to test a gate or two; one time I pushed hard enough to pop it open, so I may need a secure setup since I can be a bit of an escape artist when I'm feeling unsure. I have lots of energy and will definitely keep you busy, but with guidance, enrichment, and patience, I know I'll thrive. What I really need is someone who understands my sensitive side, keeps my clever mind engaged, and lets me spend plenty of time outdoors where I'm happiest. My adoption fee of $225+tax covers the cost of my care and stay here at the humane society. All Pennington County residents must also pay an additional $8 licensing fee at time of adoption.
