Hi there, I'm Bayou, a 66-pound Rottweiler mix with an independent spirit and a love for exploring the world around me. I like to wander and check out my environment on my own terms before I decide it's time to give you my attention. I'm active, curious, and always on the lookout for something interesting, especially if it involves adventure. I love wet food and can enjoy treats too-though I'll admit, I'm a bit picky. Because I have some ear sensitivity, I do best in a home without small children, as I appreciate having my boundaries respected. Once I start to warm up, my playful side really comes out. I'll play bow, bounce around, and let you know I'm having fun-sometimes very loudly, since I can be a vocal player! I can also be a little stubborn with selective hearing, but that just adds to my charm. I need an active, busy family who can match my energy and give me plenty of outlets, because I wouldn't thrive in an apartment setting due to my size, energy level, and how vocal I can be when alone. After my energy is burned, I'm happy to lay down and relax, but until then you'll see me bouncing around and barking with excitement, ready for whatever comes next.
