At around 10 months to 1 year old and a perfectly portable 32 lbs (short and just a tad delightfully chunky), Gemma is the kind of girl who makes you do a double take. Photos don’t do her justice. Videos don’t either. She's just absolutely adorable in real life. Gemma may be a little shy when meeting new humans — she’s had a tough start after spending months terrified in an overcrowded shelter — but her heart is pure gold. Once she feels safe, she bonds deeply. And when she bonds? Oh, she bonds. She’ll happily follow you from room to room like your tiny, loyal shadow. We wouldn’t be shocked if there’s a little corgi in the mix — she’s got that watchful, herding-style devotion and that “my person is my whole world” loyalty they’re known for. Whatever her DNA says (someone please do a test!), she’s 100% precious and 100% ready to be someone’s heart dog. She absolutely LOVES other dogs and is thriving in her foster home with three pups of various sizes. She takes her cues from them and blossoms more each day. Cats? She’s been unfazed so far. Gemma is perfect for someone wanting a smaller, spunky, sweet companion who just needs a little patience and love to fully shine. She’s already come so far — now she just needs a forever family to finish her story. (Gemma is getting spayed March 4th and can travel to her forever home after that.)
