About Clyde
Our adoption application can be found at the bottom of this pet's bio. Once your application has been approved, we can arrange a virtual meet & greet with you and Clyde. Clyde is currently in a foster home in Houston, TX and is eligible to transport to an adopter as soon as one is lined up. Meet Clyde! Clyde is a 3 year old male, pittie mix who currently weighs 50 pounds. Clyde is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered and ready to find his forever home. Clyde was found as a stray on the streets of Houston. He was all beaten up when we got him. We were alerted of him by a volunteer who feeds stray dogs. She said that Clyde would always step back and let other dogs eat before he would approach and take any food. The most sweet, gentle and selfless soul. Thankfully, we found a foster and were able to get Clyde off the streets! He's now in a loving foster home and ready to find his forever family! Clyde is dog friendly and currently lives with another dog in his foster home. We would say that Clyde has a low - moderate energy level. He does get small spurts of energy where he likes to run zoomies and play, but he mostly relaxes around the house. Clyde is cat friendly! While he doesn't currently live with cats, he has been tested with cats and he doesn't pay attention to them. Clyde doesn't currently live with kids, but he has been tested and he is kid friendly! He's very sweet and gentle. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, so we would suggest a home with older children who are able to be gentle with him. Clyde walks well on a leash, but does best if he has a dog friend to help give him confidence! He can get nervous on the leash when strangers or other dogs approach and he will just stop walking until the person or other dog passes. Sometimes he gets brave and will keep walking. He's been taken to coffee shops and we are working on building his confidence! Clyde is fully potty trained and will even go and sit by the back door to let you know he needs to go out and potty. Clyde is also crate trained and will go into the crate on his own. He stays in the crate while his foster mom is away from the home for work or errands. We think Clyde would be fine to be left free roaming because of his laid back personality. Here's a small blurb about Clyde from his foster mom: Clyde has got to be the most gentle soul and is a total sweetheart! He wouldn't hurt a fly and is so great with my personal dog. He's great about sharing food, toys, treats and any bones or other high value items. Clyde doesn't require a lot of activity and would be happy with just a dog to play with in the yard or walks here and there. He's easy going and such a sweet boy. He loves attention and cuddles, but is also able to entertain himself and do his own thing. He LOVES to play with toys and will happily share with his doggie foster sibling. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body and you can tell that he's so grateful to have been saved off the streets. His ideal home will be any home that will be patient with him. He doesn't take long, but he's shy when meeting new people. Again, not a mean bone in his body, he will just keep to himself until he knows you're safe. He really is a big softy who just wants love and affection. He has the CUTEST happy dance for food and when the leash gets brought out for walks. He also enjoys getting to go for car rides. Clyde will make an amazing addition to any loving family that will have him! Interested in learning more about Clyde or applying to adopt him?
