Sam is a big, affectionate boy with a lot to say and absolutely no problem saying it. He loves to "talk," especially if it might lead to attention, treats, or a good round of scritches. He looks tough and talks a good game, but don't let him fool you. He is a giant softie. You can still see evidence of Sam's time outside, where he earned a bit of a reputation as a scrapper. For years, he fiercely defended a heated bed on his caretaker's porch, fighting tooth and nail (literally) to keep his prized winter spot. Eventually, it became clear that this big lover boy deserved more, and Sam has fully embraced indoor life. He loves attention but can be a little bit of a diva around other animals or when he is being handled. He doesn't ever swat or bite, but he may resist being picked up. He will loudly let you know he isn't happy, but ultimately doesn't resist too much and is easy enough to get into a carrier. We think Sam would prefer to be the only pet. He loves people but doesn't seem to love sharing the limelight. We think he could do well with older kids who understand cat body language. Sam is about 5 years old. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, flea treated, vaccinated, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. If you're looking for a loving, chatty companion who wants nothing more than to be close to you, Sam may be the perfect match.
