About Sweet Pea
True to his namesake, this big kitty is nothing short of lovely. Despite his size, he's a gentle giant who just needs a patient human while he grows accustomed to his new indoor life. Sweet Pea was born in a garage alongside two other "Trash Cats," Wimpy and Babette. He was lovingly cared for outdoors by multiple caretakers, but his sweet, sensitive nature was never meant for life in the cold. While shy at first, Sweet Pea quickly melts with encouragement. His favorite safe spot is his box - and if you give him back & butt scratches there, his loud purr motor starts right up. He especially thrives with a personal cheerleader: talk sweetly, gush over him, and watch his confidence bloom. This encouragement has inspired what his foster mom lovingly calls his "cat-walk." He'll stand proudly at one end of the room, then - with a little praise - strut over for pets along his back, parade to the other side, turn around, and do it all over again. Sweet Pea is also a big toy enthusiast! Wand toys, catnip toys, scratchers, balls - if it's a toy, he's interested. Because he's still building confidence, Sweet Pea would do best in a quieter home with a friendly feline friend he can shadow and learn from. During his transition, it's recommended he start in a space where he can't hide completely out of reach (i.e. under a bed!) Sweet Pea is estimated to be a little over 6 years old. He is neutered, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. If you're looking for a big softy to join your home, consider adopting Sweet Pea (and his buddy Wimpy?) today!
