Hi there — my name is Wesson! I’m a 1-year-old male Pointer mix with a big personality, a smart brain, and an even bigger love for my people. I’m a friendly, affectionate pup who loves being part of the action. Some of my favorite things include singing along to the national anthem, snuggling up with my humans, munching on apples or sweet potatoes, and playing a good game of fetch. I’m wonderful with people (including kids), super social with other dogs, and I truly enjoy making new friends wherever I go. I haven’t met any cats yet, but I can be cat-tested if needed. I’m also a pretty smart guy! I already know commands like sit, stay, and place, I walk nicely on leash, and I’m crate trained and potty trained. Now for the important part about my ideal home: While I’m very friendly with kids and other dogs, I do have some food resource-guarding tendencies. Because of this, I’m looking for a home where I can be the only pet and where no children live full-time in the household. I’m still happy to have doggy friends or be around kids occasionally with proper supervision — I just do best when my everyday living space stays calm and predictable during mealtimes. Other than that, I’m an incredibly loving, loyal, and fun companion who’s ready to find a family that will appreciate me for the wonderful dog I am — quirks and all. We coordinate everything with our ground transport teams to ensure they arrive to the adopter safely and we keep the adopter in the loop every step of the way. Transport costs are included in the adoption fees. We also have our fosters video chat with potential adopters prior to adoption so that the adopter gets to see the animals and ensure it’s a fit.
