Hi! My name is Scout, and I’m a 1-year-old, 50-lb female Rhodesian Ridgeback mix—at least that’s our best guess. The rescue likes to say I’m probably a perfect Heinz 57, and honestly, that sounds just right. I’m a super active, playful, and joyful girl who would thrive in an active home with a fenced yard and plenty of physical and mental stimulation. I love to play—whether it’s with toys or other dogs—and I’d be thrilled to have an equally playful canine companion in my future home. I do have a more confident, take-the-lead personality, so I’d do best with another fun-loving dog who doesn’t mind me being the boss. I’m fully potty trained and crate trained, so those basics are already covered! I am still working on my leash manners and can be leash reactive, so I’ll need an adopter who’s willing to continue helping me build confidence and skills on walks. With the right guidance, I have so much potential! I haven’t been around kids in my foster home, but because of my energy level, I’d do best with older kids. I also haven’t lived with cats and likely wouldn’t be a good fit for a feline home. I’m a smart girl who already knows several commands, including sit, shake, down, lay down, and crate. One thing to know about me—I love my toys and bones! Sometimes I get a little possessive, but my foster dad has been working with me on sharing and is happy to pass along all his tips and tricks. We coordinate everything with our ground transport teams to ensure they arrive to the adopter safely and we keep the adopter in the loop every step of the way. Transport costs are included in the adoption fees. We also have our fosters video chat with potential adopters prior to adoption so that the adopter gets to see the animals and ensure it’s a fit.
