About Ricky
Ricky is a striking red mackerel tabby with that unmistakable, round-cheeked British Shorthair look. He had a rough start, fending for himself in the Ohio State Football Stadium, hiding and scavenging for food until he was finally rescued. At first he was all nerves—hissing, fearful, just trying to survive. But within a day inside, he started kneading when petted, purring and soaking in any warmth and kindness he could find. He now greets every visitor with a hopeful peep and genuinely wants to be someone’s best friend. Ricky is FIV+, but with normal loving care that doesn’t need to be a showstopper: FIV+ cats can live long, happy lives and safely share homes with other friendly cats. Ricky gets along well with other cats—he’s gentle, affectionate, and always wants to cuddle. He hasn’t met dogs, but his track record with other cats is stellar. He dreams of lounging with you, keeping you company whether you’re watching television or getting ready for your day. Right now, he’s just waiting in a cage, hoping every day that someone will finally notice him. He’s ready for a real home where he can relax and finally belong. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
