Patrick is a small, reserved gentleman with an 8-year-old’s cautious spirit. His early years were rough—rescued from a hoarding situation where more than 70 cats tried to carve out a little safety, Patrick spent much of that time hidden, afraid to even be seen. Over a year in foster care, he kept to himself, avoiding touch and tensing at any approach. In recent months though, his shy persistence has paid off: he now creeps forward for back rubs and gentle scratches, even if his nerves still get the best of him now and again. He enjoys the company of other cats and seems to take comfort in their presence.
