About Tankjj
Tankjj is a large, mature Catahoula Leopard Dog with a bright, talkative personality. He's been kept healthy and active—always up to date on vaccines, neutered, heartworm negative, and protected from fleas and ticks. At around eight years old, Tankjj is still full of energy, spending his days outdoors when weather permits and resting contentedly in his crate at night. He's crate trained and finds comfort in his own space, but he's never been left loose unattended in the home, so his indoor habits outside the crate are unknown. Outdoors, he enjoys exercise and cools off in a kiddie pool during summer, though he's never shown interest in swimming elsewhere. Tankjj gets along well with mellow dogs, especially older females. While he does fine at the vet and with other dogs in controlled settings, he shouldn't live with small dogs, cats, or children. He prefers people over toys and forms quick bonds with those who give him time and affection. He’s smart, food-motivated, not food possessive, and responsive to training. Tankjj will speak up if something's amiss but isn't an excessive barker. He travels well, is leash cooperative, and generally adapts to new situations, though a committed adopter or foster will need to help him adjust to big changes after years in his home. Tankjj has a typical Catahoula double merle gene quirk that slightly limits his peripheral vision, which led to one accidental collision with a child, so a calm, child-free household is a must. His only true challenge is the urgent need for a new home, as his family can no longer care for him due to major health crises. Tankjj just wants stability and kindness in his next chapter. He’s located in Roundup, MT, and is available for adoption or long-term foster—with transport options to be discussed. Click apply to start the adoption process.
