About Sashajj
Sashajj is a large brindle Mountain Cur mix who has seen her fair share of upheaval but remains a bright, devoted companion. At 8 years old, she still brings plenty of energy and spirit, albeit with a few extra pounds that could be managed with thoughtful routines. She’s crate trained, fully housebroken, and follows a twice-daily feeding schedule—free feeding isn’t her style. Sashajj will talk to you, and she’s quick to alert to any comings and goings. Though extroverted with her people, she reads strangers closely; not everyone is "her person," and she’ll let you know if she’d rather keep her distance. Sashajj thrives as a true companion—not a yard dog—so a home where she’s part of daily life is key. This girl enjoys mental games, tug and fetch, and likes toys (especially if there’s a squeaker to be conquered, so tough toys only, please). She needs supervision with playthings. Outdoors, she’s happy in short bursts, preferring to be close to her owner, ideally curled up nearby at night. She walks better on a harness, and while she can get vocal, she’s never caused harm. Sashajj has lived with cats but should not be placed with small dogs or with children, as she has a strong prey drive and plays rough. Another large male dog may be a possibility if he respects her boundaries. She’s physically resilient—managing an old ACL injury and skin allergies with daily meds. Storms make her nervous, and she may have the occasional accident if things get very loud outside, but she otherwise does well in the home. Sashajj is deeply affectionate and bonds closely with her main person. She is looking for a permanent foster or adopter willing to give her the stability and connection she’s missed. A home prepared for her quirks, medical needs, and loyal heart will be repaid with dedication from a dog who has weathered more loss than most. Click apply to start the adoption process.
