About Nakota Jj
Nakota Jj is a two-year-old purebred Catahoula Leopard Dog in Roundup, MT. A striking solid black male with touches of brindle and cream, he's neutered, vaccinated, and housebroken. Nakota loves car rides and is happiest when he's close to his people or out on a run—he's used to logging four miles at a stretch and needs plenty of exercise. He forms strong attachments to his humans, so be ready for a loyal shadow by your side. His protective nature means he needs slow introductions to new dogs and people; he bonds well with female dogs but not with males. Nakota has a solid prey drive, loves to talk, and has a tendency to pull on leash if he spots something exciting. He's best in a home without cats or small kids, though respectful older children and a female canine companion could be a good fit. He does have separation anxiety and gets stressed by crates, but his foster says he's improving—he just needs time, patience, and someone who understands working with strong guardian personalities. Smart, devoted, and playful, Nakota likes fetch, chew toys, and simply hanging out with his "pack." If you're looking for a running buddy with big heart, sharp instincts, and a need to belong, Nakota’s ready. Click apply to start the adoption process.
