About Howlena
Howlena is a four-year-old American Foxhound with a big heart and classic tri-color markings. After facing a tough past, this girl has blossomed into a loyal, loving companion. She loves a good scent trail and will happily follow her nose wherever adventure leads, so she thrives with a family who enjoys walks, hiking, or letting her explore safely. Though she was previously a hunting dog, she quickly adapts to home comforts—zoomie sessions followed by couch snuggles are her specialty. Howlena gets along with dogs and children and is learning not to chase cats in her foster home. She’s house trained with zero accidents and is also crate trained. While she isn’t vocal like some hounds, she still has the joyful spirit they’re known for. She’s outgoing but can be a bit timid at first; once she trusts you, her loyalty is unwavering. Currently heartworm positive, she's receiving treatment and the rescue covers all expenses until she tests negative.
