About Spike
Spike is a 64-pound Terrier mix who’s a little uneasy with all the newness around him, but there’s a gentle sweetness at his core. Crowds and chaos put him on edge, and he likes to retreat to quiet corners where he feels safer. He came in alongside Suka; while he doesn’t depend on her, having a familiar face nearby does help him feel a bit more secure. Outdoors, you get a glimpse of his braver side, but it doesn’t take much to send him scurrying back inside to regroup. He enjoys gentle pets and ear rubs when approached with patience. Spike would thrive in a calm, quiet home without small children and with people who understand the need for a slow approach and consistency. He won’t reveal his full personality right from the start, but with steady support, he’s sure to blossom. Spike needs someone experienced who’s willing to give him the time he needs to trust and open up. Underneath his shyness is a loyal, loving dog waiting to connect. By the way, Spike’s a Leo—so at his core, there’s a little lion’s heart that just needs a chance to come out. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Spike, being a Terrier mix, generally does best in calm homes where he can adjust at his own pace. A quiet household without small children would be ideal for him, especially as he works through his shyness.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Terrier mixes like Spike appreciate having access to a secure yard or regular walks for fresh air, but they don’t necessarily need a large property. Spike feels most comfortable outside when it’s calm and not overwhelming.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Terrier mixes can be good with children, but considering Spike’s shy and reserved nature, a home without small kids would be best so he can relax and feel secure.
