About Augie

Augie is a six-month-old Great Dane mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Recently returned to rescue and navigating life as a blind dog, he doesn’t let that slow him down. Augie bursts with energy and curiosity, always ready for playtime and a new adventure. He’s still learning the ropes—house training is a work in progress—but trainers are dedicated to his growth, and ongoing support is included with adoption. While he didn’t thrive around other dogs in the past, Augie’s best suited as the only animal in the home, or with a large, tolerant female dog who can hold her own. He needs someone comfortable with giant breeds and special needs; experience matters here. Augie's genuine affection and determination win people over quickly, and his potential is only just beginning to show. If you’re ready for a loyal, exuberant companion with lots of love (and paws) to give, he could be the one. They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!

Generally, Great Danes are gentle giants and can do well with children, but Augie’s blindness and size mean supervision and guidance are necessary, especially around young kids.
