About Claudia
Claudia came from a severe hoarding situation, competing for food and space, before arriving at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan in November 2023 alongside her daughter. She’s a buff/fawn tabby with striking gold eyes and a quiet way about her—content to observe you from a distance, but not ready for pets just yet. That said, she’ll lick Churu from your finger and loves playtime with strings and bouncing balls. Claudia enjoys following volunteers, curious about the work around her, and she’s always up for interaction—just not cuddles or laps at this stage. She gets along well with non-aggressive cats, especially males, and she’s reliably litter trained. Her food preference is mostly dry, except for her beloved Churu. If she’s threatened, Claudia doesn’t hiss or bite—she simply slips away to a safe spot. She’ll need a unique adopter—someone patient, calm, and understanding if she never becomes a snuggly cat. Claudia thrives with gentle play and a tranquil home where she can acclimate at her own pace. A smaller area to start will help her build confidence. Change is possible; shy cats have come around before. Fostering with an option to adopt is available. Claudia is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She’s hoping her person is out there and ready to meet her. Lets make it official, apply to adopt!
