Gracie
AvailableGracie is a large, spayed female Labrador Retriever/Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix in her senior years, currently in Seattle, WA. She is fully house trained and up to date on vaccinations. Gracie manages some arthritis and spinal stiffness but continues to have a zest for life. She is looking for a home where she can be the only pet and the center of attention.
About Gracie
Gracie is proof that age is just a number. At 11, she still greets each day like a puppy—always eager, tail wagging, and sporting a never-ending smile. Returned to rescue after her adopter’s situation changed, Gracie hasn’t lost her sunny attitude. She’s the kind of dog who’s equally content doling out affection on the couch or joining you for errands and car rides (she adores a good drive). Curiosity is in her nature, and she’s spent entire summers exploring every scent along Lake Union, swimming with a flotation vest, and enthusiastically retrieving anything from tennis balls to logs—though convincing her to relinquish her treasures onshore takes some gentle negotiation. Gracie wants to be the center of attention at home. While she’s polite with dogs on leash, she’s happiest as the only canine, soaking up all your love. She prefers a child-free home, given her aches and occasional stiffness from arthritis and spondylosis. Thankfully, these conditions are managed with affordable medication, and they don’t hold her back from enjoying life. She’s house trained, spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and her soft coat makes belly rubs a highlight for both of you. Ideally, Gracie would thrive with a backyard to explore, but she’s gotten plenty of fun in her foster’s houseboat environment. She’s a therapeutic presence in any space and deserves a peaceful, loving home for her golden years. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.

Questions about Gracie
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Gracie, being a Labrador Retriever and Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix, does well in a home with space to move around, such as a house with a yard. She prefers being the only pet and thrives in an environment where she can get plenty of human interaction.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Gracie would appreciate a backyard or easy access to outdoor areas, as her breed mix enjoys both lounging and active time outside. She likes to explore and loves the water, but a safe, secure outdoor space is ideal.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While both Labradors and Staffordshire Bull Terriers can be good with children, Gracie herself would do best in a home without young kids due to her age and joint sensitivities.
