About Tundra
Tundra is a purebred Rottweiler with a congenital heart defect. Her heart could stop at any time—no one knows if she has months or many years, but she’s determined to enjoy whatever time she has. She’s playful, bright, and takes joy in learning new tricks, especially for treats and toys. At the facility, she’s so reliable with commands that new staff learn the ropes with her. She’s happiest with her humans, lounging around at home or taking easy hikes. Tundra is crate trained, housebroken, and carries a puppy’s spirit, though she can’t be spayed due to health risks from anesthesia. She can be nervous with strangers, but a single treat usually wins her over. Because of her heart, busy places and stressful situations are off-limits; she needs a calm, consistent environment where she can just relax and play. Tundra should be the only dog in the house to keep her stress low and give her all the attention she craves. She doesn’t get along with other dogs or cats, but she’s overflowing with affection for her person and bonds deeply. The rescue will cover her medical care for life, and her adopter should live close enough to Port Angeles, WA, for regular vet visits. She’s waiting for someone who will spoil her and make her remaining time—however long—the best she’s ever known. Click apply to start the adoption process.

Questions about Tundra
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Rottweilers like Tundra are generally best suited for a stable, calm home environment with owners who set clear boundaries and are able to provide consistent attention. A quiet adult-only household would be ideal for her, especially due to her heart condition.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Rottweilers are large dogs who appreciate a secure backyard or regular access to outdoor areas for exercise. Given Tundra's health, she only needs moderate outdoor time for easy walks or gentle play, not heavy activity.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While Rottweilers can be good with older, respectful children, Tundra's profile specifically recommends an adult-only home due to her medical needs and preference for a low-stress household.
