🙈 Shy🚽 House Trained☺️ Gentle

Cotton is a young, medium-sized male Terrier who is house trained. He’s neutered and vaccinated. His temperament calls for a steady, quiet environment, and he is currently located in Seattle, WA.

About Cotton

Cotton came to the rescue from South Korea and is still learning that people can be safe and kind. He’s a timid boy who needs time and quiet patience to really come out of his shell. Cotton does best in a home with another confident dog—he’ll look to them for reassurance as he slowly gains confidence himself. A securely fenced yard in a calm, quiet environment is a must, since chaos and loud households unsettle him. Young kids are overwhelming for Cotton, so a child-free home will be the best fit. He’s gentle and sweet at heart, just waiting for the right person to give him steady support and space to blossom. Cotton is vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Questions about Cotton

What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Cotton, as a Terrier, tends to do well in environments that provide both security and gentle routine. Terriers are adaptable but appreciate calm homes, especially ones with fewer disruptions.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A secure, fenced yard is ideal for Cotton. Terriers enjoy having space to explore, but don’t necessarily require a large lot—consistent time outdoors matters more than total square footage.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Generally, Terriers can live with older, respectful children, but Cotton himself is not comfortable with young kids and should be in a child-free home.
Is this breed usually better for first-time or experienced owners?
Terriers like Cotton can be a good fit for patient first-time owners but benefit most from adopters with some dog experience, especially with shy or timid animals.
Does this breed typically get along with dogs?
Most Terriers do well with other dogs, and Cotton especially needs a confident canine companion to help him feel secure and continue building trust.
Does this breed typically get along with cats?
Terriers may have a prey drive, so introductions with cats should be slow and supervised. Cotton's history with cats isn't specified.
Does this breed typically get along with small animals?
Terriers often have a strong prey drive, so they may not be reliable around small animals. Cotton would probably do best in a home without smaller pets.
How does this breed typically behave with strangers?
Cotton is quite shy with strangers and may take significant time to warm up. Terriers, in general, can be cautious but friendly once they feel safe.
How long can this breed typically be left alone?
Most Terriers can tolerate being alone for a few hours, but Cotton will need a stable routine and may do better with the presence of another dog to keep him company.
What level of training does this breed usually require?
Terriers thrive with basic obedience and gentle boundaries. For Cotton, slow, patient training built on trust will be essential.
What size range does this breed generally fall into?
Cotton is a medium-sized Terrier, which usually means somewhere between 20 to 40 pounds, though exact size can vary.
What is the typical lifespan of this breed?
Terriers often enjoy long lives, typically ranging from 12 to 16 years with good care.
How much does this breed typically shed?
Shedding varies by Terrier type, but most are moderate shedders. Regular grooming helps manage it.
