About Petunia

Petunia came into rescue as a puppy needing some serious TLC after being found thirsty and covered in fleas and ticks, running in brutal heat. At about 35 lbs, she's a medium-sized, high-energy Coonhound mix who thrives in active environments. Petunia is sweet-natured and clearly submissive, with no food aggression issues. Her biggest joy is chasing around the yard with a pack of dogs—she can even wear out the competition. She’s not suitable for families with babies, and she has a noticeably high prey drive, especially for squirrels, so wildlife and small animal encounters would need supervision. Petunia is sharp and observant, with her two daily bursts of high energy—one before breakfast and another before supper—otherwise, she settles into a rhythm that matches the more relaxed seniors in her foster home. She can happily amuse herself with toys and goes crazy for a good back scratch. Petunia’s currently thriving on vegan Natural Balance kibble. She’s being fostered near Dallas, TX, and her foster is committed to driving her to a great home. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
