He thrives on attention and physical closeness, leaning into you for petting, resting that broad head on your lap, or army-crawling in for more affection. Captain goes for a couple of miles on his daily walks when possible, but he’s just as content sprawled out on a comfy bed or the couch. He’s obsessed with ice cubes—the sound of the freezer turns him into a statue, waiting patiently for his treat. Captain is house-trained and crate-trained, and sleeps in his crate at night. He’s neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. He gets along well with larger, laid-back dogs but should not go to a home with cats or small dogs, given his strong prey drive. He hasn’t spent much time around children, but adopters should have kids 8 and older—he’s enthusiastic enough to accidentally knock over little ones.
