About Captain
Your new best friend is just one click away. Meet Captain, also fondly known as Cap, Cappy, Cappuccino, and Cappa Chee-no. This 3-year-old bully mix was found as a stray and spent lots of time under veterinary care to ensure he would be healthy and ready for his new home. Captain does have a grade 3 heart murmur that only shows up when he is very excited, but vets assure it won't impact his quality or length of life. He weighs 56 pounds, has a striking blue and white short coat, and boasts a sunny, always-happy outlook. Captain is the kind of dog who will fill every inch of space near you, leaning in for pets and melting into couch cushions. His favorite things include snuggles, ice cubes, walks, and being the center of attention. He enjoys 2-3 mile walks when the weather is right and spends the rest of his day napping or seeking out fun. Captain is house-trained and crate-trained, and sleeps well in his crate. He currently lives with two large, low-key dogs and is respectful, though his grooming style might test a canine friend’s patience! Captain should not go to a home with small dogs or cats, as his prey drive is high around them. Kids are welcome if they’re age 8 or older, since younger children might get bowled over by his enthusiasm. He’s working on polite leash-walking and controlling his excitement with new people. Captain is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm negative. He is adoptable to residents of Connecticut and nearby states. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.

Questions about Captain
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Bully mixes like bulldogs thrive in homes where they can be close to their family, whether that’s an apartment or a house with ample space. They're adaptable but do best in a loving environment with consistent routines.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A medium yard is ideal, but regular walks and some playtime are usually sufficient. Bulldogs and their mixes enjoy daily exercise but are generally moderate in their activity needs.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Bully mixes often make great family pets as they tend to be gentle, affectionate, and tolerant. However, they are stocky and strong, so supervision with small children is recommended to prevent accidental knock-overs.
