Indiana Jones is a male Beagle/mixed breed dog with a small frame who currently lives in East Montpelier, VT. He is an adult and has been neutered. Indiana is looking for an adopter experienced with energetic, high-drive dogs and herding behaviors.

About Indiana Jones

Indiana Jones is looking for an experienced dog adopter who understands working and herding breeds. He’s a young, spirited male and has a strong instinct to herd, which he previously aimed at the children in his last home—including herding them around and even pulling shoes from their feet. At the rescue, caregivers redirect his energy into activities like playing with a herding ball. Because of his herding drive, Indiana needs a cat-free home. Indiana has lived with another dog before and did well, though at the shelter he hasn’t had much time with other dogs yet. He doesn’t like car rides—he gets carsick—so a homebody suits him better than someone looking for a travel buddy. He can be wary when meeting strangers, so any introductions might require a couple of visits for everyone to settle in. He thrives on activity and benefits from positive reinforcement training. His leash manners are solid, but ongoing structured outlets for his energy are a must. A 5-week Good Manners training course is included with his adoption fee. Ready for someone to keep him busy, safe, and understood. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
