About Xena
Meet Xena, a wild-hearted hurricane of affection and high spirits. She’s a compact Cane Corso/Presa Canario mix full of goofball charm and kinetic energy. One moment she’s giving you a gentle paw and a loving head nuzzle; the next, she’s launching herself into a joyous wiggle-fest, climbing onto your lap like a living cartoon. She’ll probably muss your hair, lopsided your glasses, and slobber your face, but resistance is futile—she’s impossible not to love. Xena came into the rescue from St. Paul Animal Control after being overlooked and even returned, purely due to her massive zest for life. In her foster home, she’s energetic, playful, crate trained, and thrives with other dogs—especially those who love rambunctious play. On leash and in public, she’s shockingly well-mannered, though her in-home etiquette is still a work in progress. She’s working on toning down her jumping and play biting. Her ideal family will enjoy that she’s a party on four legs, and be ready for consistent training, structure, and lots of activity. She needs positive reinforcement, plenty of engagement, and someone committed to keeping her social and mentally busy. She’s spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm tested and on preventatives, and recovering beautifully from cherry eye surgery. She’s not for the faint of heart, but if you’re ready for a sweet-natured, high-energy cuddle machine who’ll leave you both exhausted and smitten, come meet the Xennado. You’ve been warned.
