About Cecelia

Click apply to start the adoption process. Meet Cecelia, a medium-sized, 2-year-old terrier/boxer mix ready to learn to trust again! Cecelia returned to rescue after a previous adoption, understandably nervous but making steady progress thanks to caring trainers and volunteers. Once she trusts you, she lights up with joy and loves to spend time with her favorite people, showing off her happy whole-body tail wags and snuggling close for comforting lap time. Cecelia gets along well with most dogs and has previously lived peacefully with another pup, so a canine companion might be a great fit. While she can be hesitant around new people—especially men—she forms close bonds with women more quickly and shows patience and affection with those who let her set the pace. Cecilia’s ideal home will have a calm environment, older children (15+), and a fenced yard so she can romp and relax safely. She enjoys car rides, exploring quiet parks, and a good snuggle session after playtime. Busy or high-traffic homes are not the best match for her needs. Cecelia is a star pupil in training, responding well to commands like 'sit,' 'stay,' and 'leave it,' and proudly practices her house training manners. She’s current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed, and she’s receiving medication for anxiety to help her feel her best. With a loving, patient family, Cecelia will blossom into the loyal, affectionate companion she was born to be. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
