About Lucas

This could be the start of something paw-some. Lucas is a charming small dog recently returned to rescue after three years with his previous family. He’s a Miniature Pinscher/Rat Terrier mix and, like many MinPins, can be a bit assertive—he tried to be the little boss when he first came back, but soon settled into his foster home and now gets along well with the pack. After an initial bout of depression, Lucas has shown himself to be a low-maintenance, happy-go-lucky companion. He loves food and gets excited for walks and potty breaks, but you’ll mostly find him relaxing and napping around the house. Lucas is sensitive about his hind leg from a prior accident, and his ears and tail can get irritated—he allows ointment to be applied but would likely benefit from joint support or gentle pain management. Because he previously showed issues with kids and needs a calm environment, Lucas would thrive in an adult-only home. He’d be fine as a solo pet or with other gentle dogs and is easy to handle in the car. Out-of-area adopters are welcome but will need to meet Lucas in person before adoption. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
