About Mr. Buttons
Mr. Buttons is a one-of-a-kind little guy who brings out smiles wherever he goes. Just recently, he learned to play fetch and now delights in playing with toys and snuggling on the sofa. After spending at least six months surviving on his own around apartment complexes, he arrived deeply wary and nervous of peopleāand for good reason. Neighbors often mistreated him or encouraged their dogs to chase him, so he learned to be on guard. Still, a few caring folks left out food, and over time in foster care, Mr. Buttons has steadily built trust. These days, heās come a long way. Heās neutered, fully vaccinated, and healthy, with a heart thatās finally relaxing into regular walks and quiet moments. He has one eye and will always need some sensitivity around his blind side, but it doesnāt slow him down. Heās made major strides in leash training, enjoys three walks a day, and does well in an apartment or condo. He gets along with other dogs after slow introductions and is mostly house trained and crate trained. In public, heās quiet, non-reactive even to barking dogs, and appreciates calm environments over noisy or high-energy scenes. Because his past left scars, Mr. Buttons will do best in an adult-only home with someone experienced with rescue dogs, patient, and dedicated to positive reinforcement. He needs an adopter who will honor his boundaries and give him the consistency heās never really known. Heās a gentle, quirky soul, ready for a stable home where he wonāt be rushed or forced.
