About Darla

Darla, one of 16 dogs given a new start after surviving a hoarding situation in Dresden, TN, is now settling into a foster home. At just 9 months old, she went through far more than most pups her age—rescued just as she went into labor and bravely delivered two puppies, though only one made it. Despite her past, Darla keeps her spark; she looks after her pup, Darlin’, with remarkable tenderness and doesn't hesitate to ask for a belly rub once she trusts you. She stands out as a sweet, gentle soul who’s learning how to enjoy life as a cared-for dog, discovering treats, routines, and kindness. Protective of her young but not aggressive, Darla’s true character is gentle, kindly independent, and eager for connection. Darla is now spayed and fully vaccinated for her next chapter. She’s house trained, adapts well in a medium-sized dog’s role, and is learning to feel safe among people and other dogs. Her story is as much about hope as it is about resilience; she has what it takes to thrive as part of a patient, loving family. Ready for her real second chance, Darla is waiting in Mount Juliet, TN. This could be the start of something paw-some.
