About Loki
Loki, who was once known as Idaho, started out at the shelter as a newborn with his mother Layla and siblings. His early years saw him adopted out, but he found his way back to the shelter as a young adult in the fall of 2023, where he had to readjust to kennel life after time in a home. Loki is a striking, extra-large Pit Bull Terrier mix with a short black and white coat, blue eyes, a stout black nose, floppy ears of different colors, and an expressive, chubby face. He weighs in at 105 lbs and moves with the strength you'd expect from a dog his size. Loki’s personality is equal parts oversized puppy and loving attention-seeker. He is still learning about his own power, so he needs someone experienced and capable of managing a strong, energetic dog. When it comes to other animals, Loki doesn't do well with dogs or cats and needs to be the only pet. He may do fine with older kids who can handle his enthusiastic hugs and boisterous play. This dog is people-focused and craves affection, happily soaking up every bit of TLC offered. Recently, Loki had a stint with a foster family. He started warming up to their dogs but eventually had to return after a serious incident. This is a dog who is ready for a one-pet household with someone who appreciates a strong, playful, and affectionate companion. Loki is already neutered and up to date on vaccinations, so he can go to his new home right away once approved. If you're up for a big, loyal, sensitive guy who just needs a place to land, Loki’s waiting in Marietta, OH. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
