About Harlan
Start your journey together! Apply now. Meet Harlan, a spirited and affectionate 3-year-old hound mix whose heart is as big as his keen nose. This handsome, large-breed companion is a wonderful blend of American Foxhound, Plott Hound, Treeing Walker Coonhound, and a touch of Bluetick Coonhound, giving him an irresistibly strong drive to sniff and explore. Originally rescued after being abandoned roadside, Harlan has grown into a loving, energetic pup eager to please and share his zest for life. Harlan thrives in active homes—especially those with space to roam or secure fencing. He’s happiest with a job to do or regular outdoor adventures, making him an ideal fit for a family with land, or someone familiar with hounds or working breeds. He’s up to date on vaccinations, neutered, house-trained, and ready to be your loyal companion. Although he’s deeply affectionate, his keen tracking skills make him quite the strong puller on walks, so a confident and energetic adopter is important. Due to his strong prey drive, Harlan isn’t suitable for homes with cats or low fencing, and he’ll need an adopter who can match his energy and provide plenty of mental and physical stimulation. His current family wants nothing more than for him to have the safe, loving life he deserves. If you’re ready to welcome an adventurous hound into your home, Harlan is waiting to join you for his next great journey. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
