About Cody
Cody is a three-year-old English Bulldog with spina bifida, most likely caused by inbreeding aimed at unusual colors or a shorter stature. His previous owners felt they had no choice but euthanasia, but thanks to his rescue, Cody now gets another chance. He isn’t mobility challenged—he can run and even gets pretty athletic for a bulldog, but he lacks tone in his hind end and doesn’t have full control over his bowels, with occasional urinary dribbling. He does best on a sharp routine, a good diet, and with a male wrap, minimizing his accidents. Cody thrives around other dogs and enjoys being active, even going for walks up to two miles (just avoid high humidity). He loves the water and absolutely lives for car rides. Separation anxiety and leash reactivity are still a work in progress, with a patient foster mom focused on helping him improve. He will likely need more veterinary care than a typical bulldog and is best matched with a family experienced with special-needs dogs and strong vet references. Cody cannot live with cats but does well with dogs and children. With the right support and structure, Cody’s sweet nature shines through. Your new best friend is just one click away.
