About Mimi

They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Beautiful Mimi is a 13-year-old senior long-haired black and tan purebred Dachshund who has so much love to share. She currently weighs 21 pounds and is still working on achieving a healthier weight. Mimi is a special girl with a gentle soul—she has hypothyroidism and takes daily medication, and is also treated with Ursodiol for gallbladder sludge. She manages chronic kidney disease with benazepril and a kidney supplement, plus a urinary chew with cranberry and d-mannose to help prevent infections. Despite these medical needs, she enjoys her days in comfort and peace. Most of Mimi's time is spent napping, and she rarely barks, which makes her a wonderful fit for an apartment or condo lifestyle. She is house trained and gets along well with other dogs and new people, always happy to share her calm presence. Your new best friend is just one click away.

Questions about Mimi

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Dachshunds are adaptable dogs that thrive in a variety of living environments, including apartments, condos, and homes with or without yards, as long as they get regular walks and time with their family.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Dachshunds do not require large yards but enjoy having a secure outdoor space for short play and potty breaks. Daily walks and supervised outdoor time provide adequate exercise for this breed.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Dachshunds can do well with respectful children, especially if they are socialized from a young age. Supervision is recommended with small children due to their long backs and potential for injury if handled roughly.
