About Rocky

Make their next chapter their best one yet. Rocky is a senior boy whose journey at the shelter has been marked by courage and progress. Initially, he can be a bit wary in his kennel—sometimes appearing fearful or stressed. However, he accepts leashing and handling with ease, and is always willing to follow along for walks in and out of his space. Once outdoors, Rocky starts off a bit aloof, keen to scout out his surroundings rather than seek attention right away. Given a little time, he lets his guard down, his demeanor softening as he begins to approach for pets and gently leans in for affection. His overall energy is moderate—he enjoys staying active yet readily settles down, making him an easygoing companion. Rocky is notably vocal, but even though he might pull slightly on the leash, he responds well and remains pleasant to walk with. Volunteers consistently praise his friendliness outside of the kennel, highlighting how calm, happy, and manageable he is on walks. For a senior, he has a wonderful zest for life, and his welcoming nature quickly endears him to everyone he meets. To ensure Rocky’s smooth transition into a new home, following the 3-3-3 guideline is recommended: 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn the routine, and 3 months to fully feel at home. This could be the start of something paw-some.
