About Marjorie
Marjorie is a striking brindle pit bull mix, weighing in at around 42 pounds and about 2 years old. She’s gone through quite a bit in her young life: raising a litter of nine pups in 2023 and recovering from both heartworms and a stubborn respiratory virus. Now healthy, she’s the last of her family searching for a permanent home. In foster care, Marjorie does great in her crate during the day and overnight, and she’s not destructive when left alone. She takes a little time to settle in—anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months—but once she’s comfortable, she will thrive. She is a people-pleaser who loves earning praise and responds best to positive feedback and clear direction. Her little tippy-tap dance emerges whenever she’s excited or focused on a tasty treat. Marjorie enjoys a calm, respectful household and would be happiest with older children (10+) who understand her need for personal space. Her ideal environment includes a backyard with at least a 6-foot fence, since she’s agile and loves to patrol for local wildlife. She’s not suited for homes with cats, small dogs, or small animals due to some prey drive and should be matched either as an only dog or with a gentle, laid-back male of similar size. Highly trainable, Marjorie follows commands and is working hard on leash manners. She loves to sunbathe and has a quiet, respectful presence inside, joining in for cuddles when invited. She’s somewhat selective with other dogs—resource guarding toys can be an issue—and does best with clear boundaries. Marjorie would make an excellent agility companion or adventure buddy for someone willing to keep her involved and respected. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
