About Gilly

Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you. Meet Gilly, an affectionate, cuddly sweetheart who dreams of being your one-and-only companion! Gilly is a lovable Great Pyrenees mix with a gentle heart and a big personality, tipping the scales at 96 pounds of pure love. She’s especially fond of snuggling up in bed or lounging on the couch with her humans, soaking up as many pets and belly rubs as you’ll give her. If you stop petting her too soon, she’ll gently remind you with an affectionate paw tap! Gilly is smart and well-mannered, having completed professional training and mastering basic commands like sit, place, and paw. She is fully house trained, never destructive when home alone, and is impressively quiet—only letting out a bark to greet visitors or in response to neighboring dogs. Her leash manners are typically excellent, though her initial excitement for walks can sometimes make her pull when in new places. With continued guidance, treats, and perhaps a no-pull harness, she settles into lovely walking routines and enjoys every outing. This playful girl loves toys—especially squeaky ones and ropes for games of tug—and is always up for chasing icicles in winter. Gilly does wonderfully with kids aged 8 and up, but due to her size and enthusiasm, she isn’t suited for homes with small children. Gilly needs to be the only dog in her home, as she prefers having her space and attention all to herself. She hasn’t had much experience with other dogs outside the home, so slow, thoughtful introductions are recommended if meeting dogs out and about, and dog parks are not for her. She’ll thrive in a home that values both companionship and activity, offering her daily walks and occasional zoomies in a fenced yard (though a fence isn’t required, it would be her dream come true!). Gilly is in great health, spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and current with preventives. She is a true gem, ready to fill your life with love, laughter, and loyalty. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
