About Bailey
Bailey is a 2-year-old Shepherd-Hound mix with a striking tan coat and a personality shaped by her fair share of challenges. At around 60 pounds, she has grown into a companion who loves kids and radiates warmth once she gets comfortable with people—especially women and children. Bailey’s early life wasn’t simple, making her a bit sensitive, particularly around men, until trust is built. Once she bonds, she craves gentle encouragement and sweet words more than heavy petting, preferring calm affection over physical fuss. Kids bring out Bailey’s playful side. She’ll happily join in games of tug-of-war or keep-away, showing off her silly antics and keeping the whole house entertained. While she does enjoy being outdoors and needs regular access to a securely fenced yard, she’s a bit of an escape artist, so sturdy fencing and close supervision are musts. Her alertness makes her a natural watchdog—nobody will slip by unnoticed in Bailey’s new home. Bailey is still learning the ropes and needs a patient family with the time and willingness to support her growth at her speed. She isn’t house trained yet and will thrive with positive reinforcement training. She gets along well with children and other dogs. She’s looking for a home in the Ithaca, NY area that can give her stability, patience, and affection. Click apply to start the adoption process.
