Meet Winston, also affectionately known as Winnie-the-Pooch! This lively, smart boy has a playful spirit and an undeniable love for both walks and naps. At 5 years old, he has a rich history that makes him all the more special. Winston spent his early years in a troubling environment, witnessing terrible things that no dog should see. Fortunately, after being rescued and nurtured back to health, he’s learned what it means to be loved. Despite his past, Winston bonds quickly with kind people, showing his goofy side and eagerness to learn. He’s house trained and has good manners, though he can be tempted by the delights of food and curious smells. He’s great on a leash and loves rolling in the grass during outdoor adventures. Given his experiences, he feels safest in calm settings with gentle handling, making him best suited to a quiet home. Winston loves the company of other dogs as long as they are polite and calm, and older, respectful children can also win him over. However, he is not suitable for homes with cats or other small animals. This lovable pooch needs an experienced adopter who can help him continue to build his confidence.
