About Mable
Mable’s past hasn’t been easy—she spent her early puppy months chained outside, isolated from both people and other dogs. Later, she was surrendered when her first adopters complained about her potty training and described her unfairly as aggressive. Truth is, Mable was scared and misunderstood, coping with both emotional and physical neglect. She’s undergone seven surgeries for eye issues, and each brought her a little closer to better health and confidence. With patient rehabilitation at the sanctuary, Mable transformed. She’s learned to trust, to play, and to take social cues from other dogs. While a bit shy at first, she is loyal, funny, and affectionate once comfortable. She thrives in a home with other dogs and cannot be the only pet. She has a quirky, silly side, loves toys, and finds comfort in the pack dynamic. Mable is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. A fenced yard suits her especially well, but an apartment would work as long as she receives daily exercise and mental engagement. She gets along well with other dogs, cats, and children. Mable’s favorite things now are snuggling on the couch, play sessions, and a cozy bed in a secure space. While she’s still working on her confidence, her sweet nature and desire to bond shine through. This Sagittarius lives in Fort Wayne, IN, and is four years old. Mable is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccines, and eager to find a family who will keep her included and adored. Adoption includes all core care and a robust support process.
