About Montoya
Montoya, or Toya as he's sometimes called, is a 3-year-old Yellow Labrador Retriever and Beagle mix with a gentle presence and a soft soul. Despite a tough start—abandoned and undernourished in a cornfield—he's blossomed into a sweet, sensitive companion who finds comfort in calm and patient company. Montoya’s especially friendly with other dogs, thriving most when he has a canine friend to follow. He gets along well with cats and even rabbits, coexisting peacefully with all kinds of animals on the farm. While he’s shy at first, Montoya warms up with a gentle touch and plenty of affection, rewarding you with cuddles and sincere loyalty. He’s highly motivated by food, praise, and play, which makes him eager to please and adaptable to continued positive training. Montoya gravitates toward confident, playful dogs and would do best in a home where he isn’t the only dog. He’s a bit clingy and loves to snuggle, but he can also be independent when he feels safe. Whether it’s a car ride or a walk, Montoya is happy just being with his people. His trust grows with patience, steady leadership, and kindness. If you’ve been searching for a soul-deep connection, this easygoing, loving boy is worth the time. Ready to start your story with Montoya? Click apply to start the adoption process.
