Meet Dash! Under a year old lab beagle mountain cur mix of a sort under 35 pounds fully grown. In other words a super mutt!! A sweet, sensitive, happy boy. Dash is affectionate, easygoing, lovely, and nurturing and thrives with human affection. He is absolutely amazing with every dog, cat, and human he meets. He loves everyone. He can be timid on his own, a bit shy at first, and sometimes unsure of new people and environments, but he easily overcomes it and warms up quickly within minutes. It takes him 2 seconds for his love for all to override his shy nature. Dash needs dogs to boost his confidence. Dash is a submissive follower. In his comfort, happy place, he is all puppy. Full of raw joy and fun. Sweet like sugar. Innocent like a toddler. DASH loves all people as much as he loves dogs. He enjoys playing with dogs, and at the Sanctuary, he has done so with dogs of all ages and sizes. He's easily pleased. Respectful of cats and happiest with a pack. Being in a pack, he is more comfortable there for more confident. Dash is learning how to dog. A bit hesitant at times needing a bit of comfort and reassurance. Nothing that soft, nurturing voice and comfort led by love cannot overcome. He just needs extra support and encouragement, sometimes. Dash responds best with relaxed but assertive nurturing and guidance. He is still learning and enjoying life doing so. He adjusts, accepts, and loves easily. He's an easy dog. Dash walks perfectly on a leash. Needs a fence in the play yard. But an active owner who will enjoy simple daily walks. We work daily with trust and positive engagement that leads to confidence. At first, he can be reserved and observant from a distance. Take the lead he will follow. Dash will always gravitate to dogs and people, He is quite easy, not destructive, and simply pleased. Nurturing confident energy is the way. Dash can be clingy but I encourage independence. Encouraging him to explore with reassurance and affection guided by the pack. But he is all about loving every human. Dash is house and crate-trained well. We are doing well with a committed routine. He walks well on a leash, and we are actively working on basic obedience training. Reassuring his confidence while encouraging independence and socialization. We are succeeding with progress. New issues and opportunities arise daily that have to be addressed and or rewarded. Continued training is a purity setting them up for success.
