Applehead Siamese is the popular name for the traditional, old-style Siamese: a sturdier, rounder-headed cat than the long, wedge-headed Siamese of today's show rings. Some registries recognize the type separately as the Thai, while many cats called appleheads are simply pointed cats of Siamese ancestry, so what you meet in a listing can vary.
These cats have pale bodies, darker points and vivid blue eyes, with a short coat that needs little beyond occasional brushing. Most are talkative, clever and devoted, following their people from room to room and asking loudly for attention. In a city of walk-ups and shared buildings, that means a cat who wants daily play, a view and company, and who may not enjoy long empty days. Each cat's personality differs.
