About Apollo Detroit MI
Meet Apollo. He's a big personality packed into an energetic frame. Currently, he's living with two Border Collies and fits in well, but he can be selective with other dogs, especially in new situations. Apollo tends to be wary of men and may bark, so slow introductions are essential to build his trust. He does get along with dog-savvy cats, but supervision is a must when he's around them. Apollo is intelligent, busy, and quite vocal, always keeping you on your toes! He can be a bit of a chewer, especially fond of shoes and socks, and he has a knack for counter-surfing. Structure, consistency, and plenty of positive outlets for his energy will help, especially once he's cleared for more activity. He forms strong attachments to his people and may need some time to adjust to a new home. Apollo has so much potential and character. His current owner loves him but can no longer provide the long-term care he needs. Apollo is on restricted activity as he recovers from an injury. His splint must remain clean and dry, requiring careful attention and medical changes every week or so. He’s been a champ about leaving it alone, but any sudden interest in it might signal discomfort. Medication and a careful recovery plan are in place, allowing him to heal properly and return to normal activity gradually. He brings a lot to the table, but he's not the easiest dog you'll meet. Apollo is a work in progress, full of love, quirks, and exuberance. His future adopter should be ready to appreciate his unique personality and help him flourish. If you’re interested in experiencing the joy and laughter he’ll bring, don’t hesitate. Ready to add some adventure to your life? Apply today!
