Meet Nova, a six-year-old, 55-pound Dalmatian/American Pit Bull/American Staffordshire mix looking for a new home. She is spayed, house-trained, crate-trained, and knows basic obedience. Nova loves people, belly rubs, treats, bones, and spending time with her family. She has plenty of energy and enjoys running in a securely fenced yard, chasing lizards, and playing, but she’s also a big fan of cuddles. She rides well in the car, gets along with other dogs with proper introductions and space, and is a vocal girl who lets you know when she has something to say. Nova has a sensitive stomach and currently eats Open Farm Sensitive Stomach food twice daily. Nova is being rehomed because she has become stressed around her family’s increasingly mobile toddler. She has shown anxiety when approached while resting, including growling, snapping, and barking, but not biting, so she needs a home without young children where her boundaries can be respected. She does best with people who understand dog body language and can give her time and space to feel comfortable around other dogs. Nova does not do well with cats or other animals. She can be a little mischievous around unattended food and would benefit from continued training. Nova is an affectionate, smart dog who deserves a home suited to her needs.
