About Axle

Meet Axle! This charming 1-year-old Heeler/Dachshund mix is a delightful low rider with the personality to match. He has the adorable looks of a little sausage dog combined with a playful Heeler’s spirit. Axle came from a homeless camp, which makes him a bit timid. His ideal adopter will be patient, understanding that good things take time. He’s still adapting to life as a house dog, but he's making great strides in his foster home. He's learned to use a dog door for potty breaks, and that’s a fantastic beginning. A few key points about Axle: He is good with other dogs, having been surrounded by canine friends, but he might be scared of young children, so an adult home or one with older, dog-savvy kids would suit him best. He’s not quite leash trained yet and is still getting used to that experience. Axle will take time to build his confidence and adjust to household routines. If you're willing to let Axle settle into your home at his pace, he could become a wonderful companion. That adorable face is worth the wait! If you have a soft spot for shy pups and some patience to share, he might just be the perfect match for you. Click apply to start the adoption process.
