About Dorothy

Meet Dorothy, a little pup with a big heart, ready to find her forever home. Life has thrown her a curveball; after being adopted as a puppy in East Texas, she sadly returned to the shelter when her owner passed. Now, after five weeks in foster care, she deserves a loving family. At 24 pounds, Dorothy charms everyone with her fluffy coat and cheerful personality. We think she’s a Mini Aussie mix, possibly with a bit of Dachshund or Corgi. Her ideal home is filled with friendly faces—she adores children and enjoys nothing more than snuggling up on the couch or playing with them. Dorothy is a low-key lady who thrives on companionship. While she can entertain herself, she loves knowing her people are nearby. She’s also a fantastic bed buddy, excel-ling at giving warmth without taking over the covers. While she gets along with dogs, she prefers introductions to be gradual. She's best matched with a tolerant canine friend since she’s currently fostered with a gentle giant. However, it’s important to note that she’s not a fan of cats. Dorothy is housebroken, spayed, and fully vetted. She’s ready to love again, and all she needs is a patient adopter who can provide her with the companionship she craves. Could that be you? Your new best friend is just one click away.
