About Obi

Meet Obi, your woodland explorer and loyal sidekick. This 10-year-old gentleman, weighing in at around 20 pounds, is a mixed breed who embodies the adventurous spirit of a Spitz and Pomeranian. Rather than being a lap dog, Obi prefers to investigate the world, making him an ideal companion for outdoor enthusiasts. Obi can be a bit reserved with strangers, but with patience, he opens up to become a devoted companion. He thrives in a calm environment, appreciates personal space, and enjoys having a thoughtful human who respects his independence. A friendly canine companion would be a great match for him, as he does best with calm, confident dogs. Obi also has a good rapport with cats, having lived harmoniously with two foster cats. When it comes to house manners, Obi is mostly house trained and can hold it overnight, though he may need supervision in new situations. He is free to roam indoors but isn't fond of crates. Obi enjoys walks and explores with enthusiasm, so an attentive partner to work on his leash manners would be ideal. Despite having Stage B2 mitral valve disease and requiring ongoing heart care, Obi remains active and ready for life's adventures. He takes his medications well, especially when paired with his favorite food: cheese! Obi's future family should be comfortable with his medical needs and committed to providing him the love and care he deserves. If you're looking for a loyal friend to accompany you on hikes, enjoy cozy evenings, and savor the beauty of fall, Obi might just be your perfect match. Will you be the one to give him the home he longs for? What are you waiting for? Apply today!
