About Sophie

Meet Sophie, a spirited nine-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix currently in Amherst, MA. Wrapped in her striking brown brindle coat with white accents, she embodies joy and energy. Sophie loves playtime with younger dogs and is always eager to settle in for close cuddles, leaning against her favorite people whenever she can. After the loss of her beloved pet parent, she is seeking a new loving home to continue sharing her warmth and companionship. Sophie thrives on connection, always looking for praise and learning opportunities. She knows numerous commands, including sit, stay, and speak, and she’d greatly benefit from continued training with a patient caregiver. With her love for running and games of catch, she adds a delightful mix of activity to each day. On walks, Sophie is friendly and enjoys meeting new faces. However, at home, she takes her role as a vigilant companion seriously and can be vocal about newcomers in her space. With guidance, she’s learning to relax during these moments. Sophie gets along with respectful dogs but would prefer a home without small animals. Thoughtful feeding routines will help her with any food-related tension.
