Meet Koda Marie, a purebred 1-year-old AKC German Shepherd, who was surrendered to our neighbors at WAS, which would normally mean we don't know much about her, but her original owner, who had to give her away a week prior to her coming to WAS because they were not able to afford her, reached out and gave us a ton of information. Koda Marie was born on December 22nd, 2024, and is already kennel and house-trained! She LOVES being outside and would prefer to be outside rather than inside, which likely led to her heartworm diagnosis, which our vets confirmed. We remind everyone to keep up to date on heartworm vaccines, especially if your animals spend a lot of time outdoors. She's been spending some time in foster care getting her treatments and will need plenty of kennel rest. She's done amazing with kids, cats, dogs, and even ferrets! She needs a house with a backyard and owners who can keep her up to date on her vaccines. She knows sit, lie down, shake, and go to bed. She enjoys car rides, going for walks, and her absolute favorite thing in the world is water. Her previous owner had a pool in her yard specifically for her! She is shy at first, but once she opens up, she's the best girl! We're told she play bites, but never breaks the skin or puts much pressure. If you're ready to give her the best life ever, come visit her today! ...
