Dog's Name: Leah (LEA1026ALAFD) Estimated Breed: Hound / Pointer mix pproximate Age: 10 months Approximate Weight: 35 lbs Currently Living at: Coming Soon Adoption Fee: $400 DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet Leah! Leah is a friendly soul who has already overcome so much and is ready to leave her difficult past behind. This beautiful girl wandered onto someone's property in Alabama, emaciated and desperately in need of help. Thankfully, she was rescued and given the care she needed. With good food, love, and plenty of TLC, Leah has gained weight, gotten healthy, and discovered just how wonderful life can be! Now, Leah is ready for the part of her story she has been waiting for β€” a loving forever home where she will be cherished, cared for, and never have to worry about where her next meal or safe place to sleep will come from. She gets along great with other dogs and would love having a family or person of her own to show her just how special she is. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this deserving girl, Leah is waiting to meet you. Apply today and give Leah the happy life she's been hoping for! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
